My name is Angela Rose.
I have also been known musically as Emylara.
I have opened shows for Method Man, Sean Paul, Talib Kweli, Frankie J., Jon Legend, Javier, Rob Base, and PM Dawn.
I am a 25 year old singer/song writer.
My music is described as Alternative R&B Soul.
Some people have called it a hybrid of Fiona Apple and Amerie.
I am most recently highly influenced by Goapele and Teedra Moses.
I have a very alternative approach lyrically.
My writing style is deep, and personal.
I write about love, pain, relationships, life struggles, hope, and addiction.
I am not an addict, but I have had many people close to me who have struggled with
addiction and I know how it is to be on the other side of one.
Someday I'm going to donate a lot of time and money to drug rehabilitation programs.
My greatest goal after being successful in the music is to help drug addicts be
successful in recovering from their addiction.
I'll keep on singing until heroin is obsolete! LOL!
My singing style is strong and somewhat alternative but also very R&B.
I love to experiment with my range (4 octaves) and I started out doing chill rock music,
comparable to Natalie Merchant and Fiona, and moved on to a more R&B formula.
I love jamming, and I am going to take a step into the funk/jam band music scene soon.
Its my next project.
No matter what style I'm using, I always have to truly feel what Im singing and writing about.
It is my therapy.
I have a demo out now, and I am currently working on putting out an album.
